Seventeen episodes of Alice Coltrane’s Eternity’s Pillar, a spiritual television programme broadcast in Los Angeles between 1985 and 1988. Drawn from master tapes held in the Coltrane archive, the programmes combine devotional teachings, meditation and music from the jazz visionary and spiritual leader. Also included is Alice Coltrane, A Love Supreme, a 1970 Black Journal segment filmed at her New York home, featuring an interview and performance footage with Pharoah Sanders, Reggie Workman, Bill Wood and Rashied Ali. An accompanying book adds an episode guide, essays, interviews and recollections, plus the running time is almost nine hours!
