Etruscan Records is proud to present the screening of the exquisite limited edition DVD "The Creative Listener" by Clorinde, taken from the homonyms debut album. "The Creative Listener" is a sublime debut of enchanting flavours, rhythmic psychedelia and mathematical post-folk. Most of the Clorinde’s sound palette is made up of stringed instrumentation alongside delightful-sounding glockenspiels - and derivatives - creating an album filled with enticing structures and surprising passages of minimal introspection. With a relentless, yet peaceful, flow, The Creative Listener takes the listener on a sonic journey where he’s left dangling and wanting for more.
The screening consists of eleven videos and animations spanning the genre of experimental abstract video art to hand drawn narrative, created specifically for each song, by Clorinde brothers, Andrea and Simone, and special guest artists such as Paolo Moretti and Duncan Mason.
Following the Clorinde screening we are excited to present the psychedelic, dark and surreal projections of the Italian based animator and musician, Paolo Moretti. This evening is a rare opportunity to watch a sublime juxtaposition of unique sound and short films which have never been projected before.
Clorinde
Their compositions are based on a minimalist approach towards repetition, melodies, rhythm and sounds resulting in beautiful fragile balance between tight cyclic structures and free form improvisation. Multi-instrumentalist Andrea and Simone do an extensive use of acoustic instruments taken from Western and Non Western folk traditions (among other mandolins, banjos, bouzoukis, guitars , vibraphones, african kalimbas, zithers, clarinet, bass, electric organ, various drums and percussions).

Paolo Moretti
Paolo Moretti aka Pentolino is a polyhedral and mysterious character: talented illustrator and graphic designer, director of animated films, leading musician of Pentolino’s Orchestra, skilful skater, translator of nonexistent languages and maker of magnets to stick on your fridge or radiator. No territory remains unexplored with his pencil and all translates in an imaginative world in constant evolution , between Lego and Darwin.
