'The Unnamed Music Festival' brings together leading improvisers from the UK, including Rhodri Davies, Seymour Wright, Lee Patterson, Angharad Davies and Phil Minton, with a number of foreign-based players - Keith Rowe, Martin Kuchen, Tom Chant & Bechir Saade. The festival also launches two new discs on the 'another timbre' label, one featuring a combination of free improvisations and indeterminate compositions. The line-up showcases some of the emerging new voices in UK improv in combination with more established heroes of the older generation, in the firm belief that the two can learn from each other to produce exciting new musics.

A festival of improvised and contemporary music, highlighting the work of many of the UK’s top improvisers, along with visits from Keith Rowe (France), Martin Küchen (Sweden), Bechir Saade (Lebanon) & Tom Chant (Spain).

The programme is designed to tap into the latest developments in the lively UK improv scene, and to mix together young and older players in the search for new sounds and new musics.

The opening night also launches two new ‘another timbre’ discs – ‘Midhopestones’ by the quintet of Rhodri Davies / Lee Patterson / Louisa Martin / Phil Minton & Michel Doneda, and the Angharad Davies / Tom Chant / John Edwards / Ben Drew quartet will launch their disc ‘Notated & Annotated’, which combines improvisations with realisations of scores by John Cage and Michael Pisaro.
