THE SKATERS formed in Southern California in 2002 when friends James Ferraro and Spencer Clark decided to make music together. After mastering some staggering psychedelic drone, occult soul and hypnotic noise the band ventured into a technicolour vortex of decaying loops, nostalgic alchemy and reflective ambience that some have labeled hypnagogic pop. What both Ferraro and Clark do can seem deceptively simple, yet closer attention brings the brutal reminder that most people have the means but nothing like the touch to organise sound in such joyously twisted and perception-bending ways. Dust-encrusted tribal rhythms, broken keyboard lines, pulsing percussion and gnostic-gnomic vocals break free from the duo and fall through the gap between the horizon and the sky. For the last few years James and Spencer have been concentrating on their solo projects, releasing a dazzling output on numerous cassettes and CDRs, but with this show the pair are making a very rare appearance as Skaters again.

TQQUNDO FRRRRR is one of the many artistic outputs of Felix Lee, acting as a Channeling project. Tqqundo Frrrrr is concerned with invented languages, phonetic and visual, to convey emotions and attitudes which are difficult to express formally. Swirling chimes, mini gongs, pitched glasses and other-worldly vocalisations swarm and decay within the sonic soup which evolves out of Tqqundo Frrrrr.
