THE HEAT DEATH

The Heat Death is a Swedish/Norwegian band consisting of some key players of the vibrant Scandinavian improvised music scene. The quintet makes eclectic and ecstatic music propelled forward by an intelligent and intuitive interplay.

Outside of this group these players have their fingers in many other musical pies, such as DATAROCK and AKODE.

ALAN WILKINSON'S FREE FALL

There can be few more daunting sounds in free music than that of Alan Wilkinson in overdrive, whether the headlong flights of his alto playing, or the beefier heft he gets from the baritone. Here he teams up with the 'sartorially shabby' Pat Thomas on piano whose gift for harmonic abstraction and rhythmic creativity situates him comfortably within the realms of both Thelonious Monk and Cecil Taylor whilst remaining decidedly his own player. The quartet is completed by the huge sound and immaculate timing of Neil Charles on double bass and the precise, propulsive drumming of Mark Sanders.
