Free OTO Bar night with special guest DJ, Dave Tompkins. Dave has written for Oxford American, New Yorker, New York Magazine and The Wire. Recent work includes oral history contributions for the forthcoming monograph Rammellzee: Racing for Thunder (Rizzoli, 2023); 'Not Just Yet’ (Listening To Music With Friends, Hua Hsu, zine 2022); ‘Winter Is a Planet' (commissioned by Mattflix/Matt's Gallery for Frances Scott's film Aureole, 2021); 'Done by the Trickle Trickle' (Boogie Down Predictions: Hip Hop, Time and Afrofuturism, Ed. Roy Christopher, Strange Attractor/MIT); 'Their Waving Signals a Moon' (Incantation Wendy, Frances Scott, An Endless Supply); 'It Takes A Cavitation of Millions' (Unsound Intermission, Unsound-Krakow). He is currently collaborating with Demdike Stare on a tape edit project while hoping to finish a book about Miami Bass. His first book, How To Wreck A Nice Beach: The Vocoder World War II to Hip Hop was published by Melville House/StopSmiling in 2010.
