Bleeding Heart Narrative is the solo project of Oliver Barrett, comprised principally of haunting cellos, repeating piano melodies, hushed vocals and layers of otherworldly sounds. Occupying a space somewhere between a more traditional song-structure and an exploration of noise and texture, for recent live shows, Bleeding Heart Narrative has recruited various contributors, sometimes expanding up to eight players, including cellos, viola, drums, guitar, bass and a more prominent use of vocals.
At times sounding like a post shoegaze flashback, at others Final Fantasy joined by Michael Nyman muffled in a sinking ship; Neverest Songs plays simplistic yet thought-provoking songs. Definitely worth a listen for all those looking for new talent to wash up on their shores.
