Infant Tree presents: Agnès Pe + Mr AKA Amazing + Nine Inch Nolan

£14 £12 Advance FREE FOR MEMBERS

Agnès Pe is a Barcelona-based composer working with computer music and digital synthesis. Her practice focuses on sound as material, using sampled media, synthetic textures, and digital processing to develop compositional structures. She works with obsolete media, technological errors, and digital artifacts, which she transforms into sonic material through sound collage, plunderphonics, and algorithmic manipulation. She conceives creation as a playful and experimental process that does not seek closed answers, but rather spaces of friction and engagement with the listener’s expectations. Her work moves between experimental radio, listening-based formats, and site-responsive projects, exploring different ways of producing and distributing sound.

Mr AKA Amazing

Duane Warner (known as Mr AKA Amazing) makes distinctively vulnerable lo-fi hip-hop and distorted EDM, which he builds around voice notes using his phone. His softly spoken lyrics are raw and vulnerable, often about feeling misunderstood, although when performing live he enters a hyped-up surrealist MC mode. Duane loves to collaborate, and recently stormed Bristol with an impromptu appearance with super-versatile drummer Dan Johnson, which has led to this first ever London appearance of the duo.

'Illegibility Mistakable: Master AKA Mr Amazing on Collapsing Drums collects several tracks from earlier, self-released albums – Think Big and Am I Being Unreasonable – into one righteous lump of lo-fi hiphop that’s somewhere between cLOUDDEAD and Adam Bohman. “MANGOBAY” sounds like someone wrestling with the ideas of life and relationships while speaking through a broken supermarket tannoy.' — Spenser Tomson, The Wire

Nine Inch Nolan

When Sam Andreae and Laurie Tompkins play together, they're Nine Inch Nolan. Sam plays sax, Laurie writes the music and sings.

Sam Andreae has been active across Europe over the last decade as a saxophonist, composer and organiser. Through improvisation and composition he explores a music of colliding sound gestures and aural detritus, built up from an intentionally fractured instrumental language and playful spontaneity. His compositions place a focus on gestural processes which in their unraveling reveal a trail of sound artefacts to be picked through.

“what Sam Andreae does is liminal music, he shows you the clicks, the noises, the breaths, the rattle and hum” – John Doran, Quietus, 2017 on BBC 3 Late Junction

Laurie Tompkins writes, records and performs big music. He is half of Yes Indeed and co-ran the Slip label. In 2026, he will release Me My Music All Mine My Way, and perform a commission with the LCMF orchestra. He lives in London.
