Another great line-up from the Infant Tree label, featuring Ontario experimental artist, Shadow Pattern, Leeds-based artist, Anna Peaker, Philadelphia based multidisciplinary practitioner and alchemist, Jordan Deal, and multimedia artist, Paola Lesina.
Long standing member of the Hamilton, Ontario experimental scene, Shadow Pattern is Ivanco's latest reinvention of himself through recording and performance. Several small edition cassettes on Hamilton Tapes and an LP on Radiant Clay Records (RCR) Shadow Pattern entertains the artfully careless and outright absurd idea of what sound can be.
Anna Peaker is an artist based in Leeds, West Yorkshire who began experimenting with sound in 2016. Her work centers around quiet electronics, organ pieces, and found sound. She has released music with Longform Editions, Alter, Infant Tree, and Lime Lodge.
Jordan Deal is a Philadelphia-based multidisciplinary artist whose work defies conventional boundaries. Using their body as a conduit, Deal navigates the intersections of performance, sound, and film to explore the forces that shape socio-political structures and mythologies. Through a unique blend of avant-theatrical and improvisational techniques, Deal delves into themes of anomalies and hauntings.
Their work stands as a bold critique of global colonialism and imperialism, challenging the frameworks that define borders and territories. Deal’s aurals traverse genres from blues to avant-garde, channeling a blend of soulful defiance and speculative futurism. Their latest album Seas of Triple Consciousness weaves field recordings, folk traditions, and experimental soundscapes—an immersive journey through collapsing worlds and imagined futures.
Deal’s work has been featured in prominent venues such as Radialsystem (Berlin) as part of CTM Festival, Judson Memorial Church, the Center for Performance Research, and Cafe OTO, among others. As a 2023-2024 Artistic Fellow at the Leslie-Lohman Museum of Art and a Fall 2022 research fellow at the Amant Foundation, their exploration of chaos force as a tool for artistic and socio-political intervention continues.
