When we launched Hajar in the middle of a lockdown in May 2020, we would never have dreamed we’d be here less than three years later. By the end of 2022, we’ll have published ten incredible books, sold through print runs within weeks of publication, hosted events across the country, and shared space with some of the most thoughtful, imaginative and engaged readers around.
To celebrate how far we’ve come, we’re throwing a party for Hajar!

Join us at Cafe OTO in Dalston from 7.30pm on Friday, 30 September for a night of music, readings, laughter and riotous dancing. In the words of Lola Olufemi, ‘I don’t care what anyone says, that’s a kind of political work!’
