Grupi Lab are a supergroup of legendary singers of southern Albanian polyphony, or Këngë Labë. Led by Golik Jaupi, awarded the title of 'Artist of the People' during the country's 50-year communist dictatorship, Grupi Lab will be singing their 3000-year-old shepherd songs for the first time in the United Kingdom. The powerful drone and astonishingly varied vocal roles have to be heard to be believed; when Grupi Lab sing, the earth shakes.
