Great to welcome back Glasgow record label 12th Isle with another excellent line-up.
Miradasvacas is a duo formed between Pablo Mirón and Juan Vacas from Real No Real, in which they explore the boundaries between pre-recorded – field recordings or found materials – and original live sound through a series of manipulations with different media such as radios, reel to reels’, turntables or cassette players along with more traditional instrumentation.
Following last year's debut release on 12th Isle, and a performance at the 2023 edition of the Three Wheel Drive festival, label co-founder Stewart Brown brings an all new set prepared specifically for this show at Cafe Oto. The writing process revolves around the preparation of sketches that are then unpacked on the night with improvised support from percussionist Pike Ogilvy and regular collaborator, the London based Dan MacIntyre.
Pike is a drummer based in groove music of different styles. He has worked with a range of artists and musicians including Colombian percussionist Roberto Pla and various London groups such as Babeheaven / Zantogola / Dockem X Malone.
