Sachiko & Rinji Fukuoka – 26.3.11

A whirring, monastic prayer from ex Overhang Party members Sachiko and Rinji Fukuoka. The two meet at a blurry horizon of strings, electronics and rich vocals, and slowly pull apart their sound in glitchy, dissonant chunks.

Sachiko / vocals, electronics

Rinji Fukuoka / cello, piano

At the turn of the century she added improvised violin to her soundworld and played bass with Overhang Party alongside Rinji Fukuoka. At the same time she kicked off the shamanic vocal duo Vava Kitora with Yama-Akago who released their first disc 'The Labyrinth of Angulimara' in 2004. In 2006 Sachiko released her first solo side 'You Never Atone For...' and toured Europe including a spot at Glasgow's legendary INSTAL festival.
