Job Opportunity: Assistant Cafe Manager

Deadline: 10th April 2023

Salary: £27,000 - £30,000 (pro-rata)

Days: Part -Time 4 days / 32 hours a week pro-rata although we would consider making this a full-time post.

We are currently looking for a part-time Assistant Cafe Manager who is passionate and knowledgeable about food & drink, music and what we do here at Cafe OTO

Since we opened in 2008, Cafe OTO has developed an international reputation for hosting adventurous live music alongside being a thriving cafe and book & record shop. Whoever takes this role will play an essential part in helping us expand the cafe and kitchen menu and grow Cafe OTO and its surrounding community

We are looking for applicants who can demonstrate:

• Experience in managing small teams of people
• Knowledge and understanding of Cafe OTO’s mission, its history and the context in which it operates.
• Knowledge and interest in a food and cooking
• Experience within the hospitality industry
• Ability to think on your feet and take initiative and stay calm under pressure.
• Passion and knowledge of food

Key responsibilities would include:

• Communicating regularly with the line managers as well as other staff
• Maintaining the kitchen and adhering to health and safety standards at all times.
• General running of the kitchen including developing and expanding the range of drinks, snacks and food menu
• Basic administration and housekeeping skills.
• Cash and credit control, including reporting to management.
• Stock Management
