Great to have Thurston back on stage at Cafe OTO for two duos - one with double bass virtuoso John Edwards and the other with Spaceman 3/Spiritualized guitarist Jason Pierce.

Thurston Moore needs little introduction - an inventive and instantly recognisable guitarist both in his solo work and as a member of Sonic Youth, Thurston has also been a long running participant in and champion of much of the music that we hold dear at Cafe OTO.

JOHN EDWARDS / double bass

John Edwards is a true virtuoso whose staggering range of techniques and boundless musical imagination have redefined the possibility of the double bass and dramatically expanded its role, whether playing solo or with others. Perpetually in demand, he has played with Evan Parker, Sunny Murray, Derek Bailey, Joe McPhee, Lol Coxhill, Peter Brötzmann, Mulatu Astatke and many others.

JASON PIERCE / guitar

Jason Pierce is best known as the founding member of both Spaceman 3 and Spiritualized. He's also been involved in music for installations and film and has performed with free jazz/out-music luminaries such as Yoko Ono and pianist Matthew Shipp.
