Paul Abbott – Tender Interval

No Longer Available

“There is no origin nor terminus to our feelings” – Gregg Bordowitz

Tender Interval is a series of monthly solo performances that will mobilise paraphrased pasts and imaginary futures to intensively explore the present for a way out.

The series will be composed of recurring ingredients (in particular): drums, technology, bodies, words and the building in which they are located. For each performance the composition of these elements will take form through a specific figure of existing materials taken from a range of sources.

Based at Cafe OTO’s Project Space the performances form part of an ongoing investigation into questions of politics and aesthetics through rhythms, sounds and words.

Tender Interval: FRX2 (n)

The second event of the series (on October 20th), FRX2 (n) will learn from: musician Cecil Taylor’s Solo recorded at 2:30am in Tokyo, 1973 and fragments of Daniel Heller-Roazen’s Dark Tongues read by Queen of the Shell.
