Peter Walker, Lavinia Blackwall + TBC

No Longer Available

The original guitar legend from the Sixties is alive and well, and playing more than ever. A stunning fusion of Indian raga and Spanish flamenco bearing the influences of both Ravi Shankar and Paco de Lucia. This is a very special opportunity to see this legendary and highly influential American guitarist who recorded two pivotal folk raga albums for the Vanguard label in the late Sixties and now inspires a new generation of artists like Sir Richard Bishop, Ben Chasney Thurston Moore and Jack Rose (with whom he’s toured). Peter has played with Lowell George, Karen Dalton, Fred Neil, Tim Hardin, and Joan Baez, among many others. French label Megaphone and Tompkins Square both release new records this Spring.

Lavinia Blackwall is a classically trained singer with a keen interest in early music. As one half of the current line-up of Alex Neilson’s fire-folk unit Directing Hand, she’s been delivering her incredible voice on stages with Baby Dee, Jack Rose and Vibracathedral Orchestra. Unafraid to push her capable tones into truly dark terrain, this is sure to be a special solo performance. Vinnie also collaborates with Tight Meat and is a member of folk band The Pendulums
