In an exciting new development Cafe Oto is looking to set up a new project space on Ashwin Street for workshops, talks, film screenings and installations all relating to the core programme at the venue.

We will be working with Assemble a young, critically acclaimed design practice based in London with a proven record of developing successful public spaces in difficult urban situations. Their work focuses on using design as a tool to improve social and cultural life, committed to uncovering the extraordinary opportunities that exist on the fringes of everyday life and the built environment. Their projects have been characterized by inspiring ownership through use, occupation and public engagement - seeking to actively involve the public as both participant and accomplice in the on-going realization of the work.

Assemble will present a sustainable building workshop focusing on construction processes and their environmental contexts. The workshop will uncover the narratives behind the use of locally sourced building materials and finish with an opportunity for everyone to get physically involved with the hands-on construction of Oto projects new space on Ashwin st.
