OTO BAR – a night of Ahmed Abdul-Malik with Seymour Wright

No Longer Available

Seymour Wright, saxophonist of the group [Ahmed], presents a DJ night focussed on the music of American jazz double bassist and oud player Ahmed Abdul-Malik. On top of spinning tracks from his back catalogue, Seymour will be presenting (and imagining) music tangential to Ahmed Abdul-Malik: work by his collaborators, music that inspired him, and artists that were inspired by him.

The night will celebrate the launch of Sound American Volume 27, which features an essay on Ahmed Abdul-Malik by Pat Thomas, who is the pianist in [Ahmed].

Come down and hang out, enjoy our freshly stocked bar and browse through our records, books and posters. We have possibly the best beer in the world on tap from our friends at the Kernel plus an extensive range of spirits including Japanese whiskies alongside some great Single Malts from Scotland. Not to mention some exceptional beers in the fridge with a big range of Belgian greats including Dubbel, Westmalle Dubbel and the Trappistes Rochefort 10, as well as some new additions such as St Fullien and Mongozo Pils Gluten-Free beer.

We want to keep things as safe as possible for our audiences, artists and staff. So from this date on we'll be asking all attendees to shows (both vaccinated and not) for proof of a lateral flow or PCR test taken within 24 hours of arrival. A picture as proof is fine.
