Undisputed queen of Afro-Latin fusion, the Venezuelan cuatro player and vocalist Luzmira Zerpa presents her continuing exploration of the wider reaches of musica tropical. She will be focussing on the llanero repertoire – music of the tropical plains of Venezuela – from her forthcoming record on Mais Um Discos.
Luzmira is accompanied by three virtuoso musicians: Colombian Harpist Diego Laverde, Venezuelan Adolfredo Pulido on bass and Venezuelan master percussionist Carlos Talez.
“To be a llanero is to be from the landscape, from the earth, from the plain, from the stars, from the distant horizon… and that is sublime” - Luzmira Zerpa
“Astoundingly rich and expressive voice” - Songlines
“Flamboyant and Powerful” - The Guardian
