MATINEE: Listen to Kurdistan - Support Rojava

No Longer Available

Listen to Kurdistan unfolds as a three-day journey across London, from North to South, from Friday to Sunday, an act of collective listening that turns the city into an open ear.

This is not only a series of events; it is a gathering of voices, memories, and sounds and images shaped by resistance, care, and survival. A culture rich in rhythm, language, and imagination, yet increasingly under threat. Through sound, image, and presence, we affirm unity, equality, and justice, and come together to demand freedom for Kurdistan.

This edition of Listen to Kurdistan is a fundraising event for Rojava. Every contribution, every sound, and every shared moment directly supports communities in Rojava, where women-led, grassroots models of coexistence and self-determination continue under constant pressure. Listening here is not passive—it is an ethical act.

A central strand of the programme is the screening of a film by Kurdish artists. Their work foregrounds lived experience, care, resistance, and memory, offering perspectives that have been marginalised and systematically silenced. In this context, filmmaking becomes both testimony and agency: seeing becomes inseparable from listening.

Across cafés and performance spaces in London, Kurdistan is not represented, IT IS HEARD AND SEEN. Breath in strings, skin on drum, voltage through wire, images shaped by women's hands, stories carried by voices. Difference does not fragment us; it resonates.

Listen to Kurdistan is an invitation
to listen beyond sound,
to see through women's voices and images,
and to let attention become solidarity—with Rojava
