Day two: solo set
Very excited to welcome the incomparable Klein to OTO for a three-day residency encompassing noise, acoustic performance and a singular talent show. Full line-up to be announced very soon.
Klein is an artist and musician whose work often blurs the lines between fact and fiction. Her music releases, films, and performances are often informed by urban mapping, surveillance, humor, hip-hop, noise, identity, and beyond. Her work has been shown and/or performed at Museums, Galleries, yards, squats, and pubs, including the infamous The Old Blue Last and the New Cross Inn.
Nkisi is the pseudonym of Melika Ngombe Kolongo, whose activities as a producer, live musician, DJ and curator are channels for an ongoing inquiry into sound as a tool of communication beyond the purely lingual.
Musically, this manifests in a captivating cross-talk of African rhythms, uncompromising European hard dance tropes, foreboding synth melodies and a relentless, galvanising energy.
"As one of the most distinctive voices in UK drill, Teezandos has built her name on sharp lyricism and raw storytelling. In a candid conversation, she opens up about navigating a male-dominated scene, staying true to herself, and what’s next in her ever-evolving journey." – Mixtape Madness
