Sculpt is a new sound piece narrating a part study & experience within the evolution of the African body structure. Body narratives mainly focusing on black womanhood, the influences within popular culture- The then and the now dynamics that have formed newer engagements of desirability & dissatisfaction as well as physical performance.

Cõvco

Cõvco is a London-based Congolese artist whose multidisciplinary language translates in the form of Performance art, Poetry, Sound production and Visual art. In 2019 she debuted Consciente of the soul an intimate performance piece part of Liz Johnson Arthurs ‘IF YOU KNOW THE BEGINNING, THE END IS NO TROUBLE’ at the South London Galley, later performed at the Stedelijk Museum Amsterdam for Sonic Acts Festival 2020 closing the festival. She continues to shape the unwritten within the realms of storytelling through sound and movement. Previous performances ‘Nexus in paradise’ which debuted at the the Camden art centre (2021) a play self produced, written and scored followed by a sequel performed at La Casa Encendida, Madrid (2022). Cõvco’s approach to performance brings together modern social commentary and ancestral dialogues - a captivating playground of raw emotional curiosity, alongside unexpected giddy comical humour.

Richard Olatunde Baker

Born of British-Nigerian parentage and brought up in UK listening to mostly African music. He began his musical life as a self-taught guitarist, delving into avant -garde but was later trained by various traditional Nigerian master drummers in UK. He is an accomplished Yoruba talking drummer, all round African percussionist, workshop facilitator and studio engineer/producer,as well as being an instrument maker.Apart from his releases with his own group Eardrum, Richard has also been a regular feature with the likes of Mulatu Astatke, the late Tony Allen, Dele Sosimi, Anthony Joseph,  to name a few.

Rat Section

After a long hiatus, World Based Rat Section are back on the road. With a sparse and broad back catalogue dating back to the 80s, these sonic experimentalists have become renowned and sought after amongst a community of dedicated tape collectors. Finally, they return to London once again. "You try to put your finger on what Rat Section is and before you get close to this elusive Rodent, it scuttles back into the darkness."
