Helen Anahita Wilson presents a new collection of work in the form of corporeal sonic life writing. In transdisciplinary compositions for piano, film, plants, percussion, and repurposed hospital equipment she presents episodic stories about her body and her experiences of illness. ‘Body of Truth’ includes the work >>KRANKENHAUSFUNK and the extrinsic death receptor pathway<<: a re-imagining of hospital radio and artistic sonification of biomedical processes, featured at CTM Festival and hcmf// 2022.

Helen Anahita Wilson

Helen Anahita Wilson is a pianist, improviser, sound artist, and composer. In recent years her work has focused on two areas: sonic life writing and collaborative composition in South Asian styles. She is a regular collaborator with tabla player Shahbaz Hussain, and has recently worked with Talvin Singh, the Mysore Brothers, and Debashish Bhattacharya. She is also a keen commissioner of new music from fellow, contemporary composers and she presents the global classical and art music show, Stereophonica, on Repeater Radio.

Daniel Spicer

Daniel Spicer is a writer, broadcaster, improviser and poet based in Brighton, UK. He writes about music for The Wire, Jazzwise and Songlines magazines, and for The Quietus website. His book on Turkish psychedelic music, The Turkish Psychedelic Music Explosion: Anadolu Psych 1965 to 1980, was published by Repeater Books in 2018.
