Pleased to host a special collaboration between long-time friends Crayola Lectern (Chris Anderson) and Heidi Berry, featuring acoustic piano renditions of each of their songs. This will also be a rare chance to hear Heidi Berry performing songs from her two Creation Records albums, 'Firefly' and 'Below the Waves', not heard live since the 1990s.
Heidi Berry has been recording and releasing her music since the late 1980s. Often awarded the accolade, "a musicians musician", Martin Aston said of her, "Given how many singer-songwriters have ploughed the folk-fusion field since Heidi, her influence is doubtless greater than people realise." And Ivo Watts-Russell (4AD) has comments that, "Heidi's music is not about where she fitted in. Instead, it has great lasting value." (Ivo Watts-Russell, 4AD)
Crayola Lectern, described as "what psychedelia would have sounded like, had the Edwardians invented it," and "kosmick melanchodelia," will be performing a selection of piano-led material where experimental and avant-garde collide with romantic classical and popular song. Nods to the Canterbury sound with the heart on its sleeve. Third album, "Disasternoon, in the pipeline.
