EARWORM PRESENTS: NEW YEAR'S NOISE – w/ 4046 GROUP + MILKY EYES + JACKSON BURTON + RORY SALTER & BILLY STEIGER

£6 £5 Advance FREE FOR MEMBERS

Start 2026 as you mean to go on with an incredible line-up of New Year's Noise!

4046 GROUP

For this performance, 4046 Group is Matt Atkins, Regan Bowering, John Macedo, Phil Maguire and James Shearman.

4046 Group was formed in August 2025 by Matt Atkins, Lucia H Chung, John Macedo and Paul Margree after a DIY synth building session. The group is based around a simple and inexpensive DIY electronic noise box (designed by synth builder Martin Freeman) which each member uses during live performances.

The idea behind the group is to create an open, fluid and expandable membership. Anyone who decides to build the noise box can participate in performances, making each line up and performance different. The group draws on non-traditional ways of organising and shaping performances, such as free improvisational exercises, indeterminacy and graphic scores.

These methods allow both musicians and non-musicians to equally engage in performing with live electronics. If you would like to build a 4046 noise box and participate in future performances, please contact us on Instagram at https://www.instagram.com/4046_group?igsh=MWV2dmwwdGYwZmJrNQ%3D%3D&utm_source=qr

MILKY EYES

A fusion of the legend of Väinämöinen and the story of Princess Mouseskin that concerns a group of tomb-robbers. I am a boy, I will be flawed ignorance, or that's what everyone thinks. The sky is like a watchman and I am overgrown with fleas. Fight love and attack wanderlust!

There, in our office building, we understood science. If you don't know about the home, then now is as good a time as any. There, in the apartment, I forgot the meaning of madness. It was the year of justice, the year of injustice, the year a rogue AI knew the meaning of wisdom - the year of weeping. Such an uncommon time, this week of speaking.

Jackson Burton

Jackson Burton works with scores, text pieces and action-based performances. Recent output has included performances at Cafe OTO, The Fruit Market Edinburgh and Hundred Years Gallery, a recent release on Infant Tree in 2023 with Adam Bohman, Sophie Sleigh-Johnson and Sue Lynch and a live solo LP on OTORoku

Rory Salter

Rory Salter is a musician, artist and technician living in London. He has published albums under various monikers with Index Clean, TEETH, Zoomin' Night, Alter, TakuRoku, Infant Tree, Bison and amongst others.

His work is formed through experimentations with acoustic & electronic instruments, faulty & functional technologies, cassette tape, feedback and walking; motivated by exploring relationships to environment, work/labour & materials. It is rooted in practice and the forms of documentation and theory that come from that practice. He has performed and worked with Derek Baron, Ecka Mordecai, Russell Walker, Mark Peter Wright, Regan Bowering, Li Song and others

He co-runs the record label and mail-order distribution Infant Tree with artist Ben Victor Waggett and curates a series of concerts in London between Cafe OTO, Dalston and Spanners, Loughborough Junction. He also works as a sound technician.

Billy Steiger

Billy Steiger was born in Howth on the 16th December, 1986. Now he plays the violin.

“Then he sat down by a pond and began to play a tune. As he played, the most extraordinary thing happened. One by one the fish in the pond began to jump out and fly about in the air. And what is more, they were all different colours and they were singing to the music.”

Patrick, Quentin Blake.
