Dissolve Specific Objects: Dalglish + Joe Gilmore + Lee Fraser

No Longer Available

Dissolve Specific Objects - promoters of computer music and improvised electronics at venues across London - present their debut night at Cafe Oto, featuring Chris Douglas (O.S.T., Dalglish and Scald Rougish), Joe Gilmore and Lee Fraser.

Chris Douglas has existed in the dark outer reaches of electronic music for 20 years. His music is abstract and labyrinthine but also forward-gazing and quite often astoundingly beautiful. Throughout a long career using different monikers (among others O.S.T., Dalglish and Scald Rougish), the Berlin resident, nomadic pioneer has explored – and partially developed – genres like IDM, dance-hostile techno and dark ambient. Douglas recorded his first EP for Detroit-based Switch Records in 1992 under the name O.S.T, and around that time worked with notable figures such as Mike Banks of Underground Resistance and the late James Stinson of Drexciya. In 2003 he was invited to perform at the All Tomorrows Parties festival in the UK, curated by Autechre. Since then he has created a large body of work with releases on labels such as Ideal Recordings, ICASEA and PAN.

Lee Fraser

Lee Fraser is a British composer whose work blends aspects of acousmatic theory with the compositional methods of computer music. His live performances employ a range of digital synthesis processes and a structural rationale that are characteristic of his fixed pieces, a selection of which comprises the Dark Camber album, published by Entr'acte in 2014.

Joe Gilmore

Joe Gilmore is a sound artist based in the north of England. His music has been published by 12k/Line, Alku, Cut, Entr'acte and Fällt.
