Bitchin’ Bajas & Bonnie ‘Prince’ Billy – Day Two

No Longer Available

A massive pleasure to bring great songwriter and musicians Will Oldham – aka Bonnie ‘Prince’ Billy – to OTO for a three-day residency in a very special pairing with psychedelic instrumental trio, Bitchin’ Bajas, who played a knock-out show here last year!

“Whenever Will Oldham seems to be getting more widely recognised, the more diverse his work becomes. A songwriter whose output makes the erratic whim-based releases of someone like Neil Young seem like the focus-grouped product of the blandest corporate drone, Oldham’s catalogue is impossible to corral, despite the best efforts of his devoted fanbase... Live, the picture only becomes more complicated, his performances as apt to be with his own electric retainers as favoured local pick-up bands. Or something else entirely.” – The Guardian

Bitchin Bajas

Bitchin Bajas started in 2010 as solo side project for Cooper Crain, guitarist of Chicago Krautrock heroes Cave. Since then, Dan Quinlivan and Rob Frye joined the band and Bitchin Bajas have got the public attention thanks to a perfect, extensive discography on quality record labels such as Bathetic, Permanent, Hands In The Dark and Drag City. The trio play warm, instrumental, psychedelic and melodic ambient music, mixing minimal 60/70’s electronic with original acoustic elements: flute, saxophone, xylophone, woodwinds to name only a few.

Bonnie ‘Prince’ Billy

The man who acts under the name Will Oldham and sings and composes under the name Bonnie "Prince" Billy has, over the past quarter-century, made an idiosyncratic journey through, and an indelible mark on, the worlds of indie rock and independent cinema. With his highly individualistic approach to music making and the music industry, one that cherishes intimacy, community, mystery, and spontaneity; his brilliance has captivated fans and made Bonny one of our most influential and beloved songsmiths.
