Baba Yaga's Hut: Tengger + A Record of Living Beings / 生存記錄

No Longer Available

TENGGER (formerly ’10’) is an electronic psychedelic musical duo based in Japan and South Korea that has toured extensively in Asia, Europe, and the USA. It is a traveling musical family, made up of Pan-Asian couple, itta and Marqido, who create their brand of psychedelic New-Age drone magic through the use of harmonium, voice, and toy instruments (played by itta) and analogue synths (played by Marqido). The duo originally started out with the moniker “10” but since the birth of their son RAAI (who joins them on tour and often on stage) in 2012, have called themselves TENGGER (meaning “unlimited expanse of sky” in Mongolian).

“Album Earthing is TENGGER’s 7th studio album, recorded during the year 2021. Staying at Studio Kyurt located in the highlands, walking nearby, climbing mountains, gazing at waterfalls, or reaching the ocean, we observed a lot of things. And then we could receive the message from nature, There is nothing divided and we are connected all in the life circulation. and we could make it into this album in nature. Paying respect to “Now”, the time of living with sharing the message with you all audiences through music”.

A Record of Living Beings / 生存記錄

Raimund Wong (Floating World Pictures): Cassette 4-track and instruments processing; Suren Seneviratne (My Panda Shall Fly/Petit Oiseau): abandoned & obsolete mac music softwares; Yoshino Shigihara (Yama Warashi): percussions and taishōgoto; with guest Clive Bell (Twinkle3/Jah Wobble): shakuhachi and various wind instruments.

With a collective mark-making that encircles Rai Wong’s tape-loops manipulations, this is a semi-improvised extension of his uninhibited Soho Radio show under the same name. A filmic meeting place between origins and genres, with references to folklore, memory and consciousness – the group strives to present an optimistic, eternal view of mankind where sounds and voices from disparate space and time can work together in harmony.
