Following the recent release of the A.r.kive box set, we're delighted to announce a rare live show by A.R. Kane as part Rocket Girl's 25th birthday.
East London's own, 1980's progenitors of dreampop, shoegaze, post-rock and the indie-dance and indie-dub crossover, make a rare appearance this autumn.
"but perhaps what we have here is all we really need - two years where A.R. Kane dreamed for us all a new pop music, an alchemial vision of what dream pop really could be" Uncut
“…joyously prescient, an eclectic dream-pop futurism that only makes complete sense in the light of all that came after.” MOJO
“A R Kane have as much blissful oomph as they did three decades ago.” Electronic Sound
“With AR Kive…we are reminded that the band (also) helped shape the sound of a rich and fertile period in the history of pop music.” The Wire
Pieter's first show in the UK in 5 years.
Pieter Nooten's fragile and restrained music has been well known for many years.
Being part of the early line-up of Clan Of Xymox in the 80s, Nooten was responsible for most of their early cult hits.
Before leaving COX in 1990, he released an extraordinary album on 4AD, a collaboration with Michael Brook, entitled "Sleep With The Fishes", which was highly acclaimed and reached cult status.
Nooten has released 5 solo albums on Rocket Girl. Sweet, delicate compositions with a minimalist initial concept, further explored through deep layers of harmonies, which have defined Nooten's music through the years. Music inspired not by pop, but by 17th century baroque music.
