Taehyun Choi

Taehyun Choi began his music career in 2010 in pursuit of lightness and simplicity yet boldness in musical performance and production. As the songwriter, guitarist, and vocalist of the duo band Kuang Program (2011~), he has vigorously expanded the boundaries of non-idiomatic improvisation in a pop context. His improvisational fluency in performance and composition is also showcased in his solo project (2013~), as he has constantly embraced and incorporated unexpected sonic events, such as the recursivity of electronic devices, vibrations from objects, and collected and sampled sounds using the randomness of the Internet, into his music. Seeking the morphing and transition between pop and experimental music, or the degeneration and/or transcendence of the both, he relishes his successes and even failures of his control over musical interactions as a performer. Choi is also working on the electronic music duo THSS(2017~) as a side project. He released various records such as Kuang Program - This is the End of Us(EP, 2012), You Or Me(LP, 2013), Flames, Dreams, Laughter(EP, 2014), Closed Eyes(LP, TAPE, 2016), There is no more snow on the television(LP, Vinyl, 2021), Taehyun Choi - DIE WA Q(EP, 2014), ROTTY(EP, 2014), 0 mouth(EP, 2016), Microscript(LP, TAPE, 2022) Parted Songs(LP, 2013, 2015, 2020), Jowall + Taehyun Choi - Mirror and Corpse(LP, 2015), THSS - HOP HOP HOP(LP 2017), Cargo Cult(LP, TAPE, 2020).
