Rod Melvin

Rod Melvin studied at Chelsea School of Art 1967-8, then at Reading University Fine Art Department where he and Anne Bean were founding members of performance group Moody & The Menstruators (aka The Moodies ). His subsequent music work has involved working and writing with Ian Dury (What A Waste, England’s Glory) and playing for Brian Eno recordings. (Another Green World, Nerve Net). His theatre work includes Lindsay Kemp, National Theatre and Immodesty Blaize. He has also composed for films by James Scott and Peter Richardson and performed live as a pianist and singer in many different settings including a residency at London’s Groucho Club. His visual art in recent years has included knitted portraits (in private collections and the RA Summer exhibitions).
