Edward and Lewis started working together in 2020. Rehearsing during the pandemic in empty classrooms at City Lit they produced pieces for electric guitar and piano, and drum machine and pedal board. They have performed around London including at City University Concert Series and Morley College.
Edward works mainly with the composer performer group Bastard Assignments. His piece Flower was recorded by the BBC at the Aldeburgh Festival 2019 and was later broadcast on the New Music Show. Other significant performances of his work include Will in Oslo (2020), Hold at 2017’s hcmf// and Tape Piece at LCMF 2015. He studied music at the University of Cambridge and composition at Trinity Laban. He writes about music for The Wire and Positionen.
Lewis Spear studied popular music at Falmouth University. He plays guitar in the band Terra Twin.
