In 1998, Genesis Breyer P-Orridge was ending his association with the name Psychic TV, the band s/he created after the termination of Throbbing Gristle. At the same time, s/he began conceptualizing Thee Majesty as a spoken word-based project. The first major Thee Majesty performance was in 1998 in Stockholm, Sweden at an international spoken word festival. That first Thee Majesty lineup included P-Orridge, Larry Thrasher, Bachir Attar, and Chandra Shukla. Later in 1998, in New York, Genesis met Bryin Dall (4th Sign of the Apocalypse, A Murder of Angels, Loretta’s Doll) and began doing live performances in New York and San Francisco and tours with the industrial band Pigface.

Thee Majesty's second major performance was at the Royal Festival Hall in London, England on May 1, 1999. The show was called "Time's Up" which was also the name of the new project's debut CD, released on the same date by Dall's label The Order of the Suffering Clown via World Serpent Distribution. Since then, Thee Majesty has played festivals, art events, museums throughout Europe and intimate venues in Europe and the US, and releasing original studio albums. In 2009 Thee Majesty played a critically acclaimed show expounding on a transgender creation story theme at the Centre Pompidou with P-Orridge, Thrasher, Dall and Edley ODowd in the lineup.

Genesis P Orridge Besides P-Orridge and Dall, Larry Thrasher has performed several live shows including two tours of Europe. They were joined in 2004 by P-Orridge's wife, Lady Jaye Breyer P-Orridge, and Edley ODowd (Toilet Boys, PTV3). The project remains a vehicle for P-Orridge's semi-freeform rants and concepts, supported by Dall's guitar and sample soundscapes along with Edley’s prepared percussion, at times augmented by some combination of other players. Lady Jaye died suddenly on Tuesday 9 October 2007.

Thee Majesty's performance at Cafe OTO will be the first UK appearance played under this moniker since 1999. It will be performed by Genesis Breyer P-Orridge, Bryin Dall and Edley ODowd.

"poetry and musical improvisation combine in the most unexpected and interesting ways. cynical without being nihilistic, humorous without being silly, the words and the vocal delivery combine in ways that few spoken word artists can manage. the music is somewhat minimal, yet integral to the entire experience, ranging from pleasant sonic tickles to blistering noise attacks."

THESE FEATHERS HAVE PLUMES

These Feathers Have Plumes is the solo project of bassist Andie Brown. Having previously released two sold-out cassettes on the New York tape label Period Tapes, the London-based artist recently released a full length album on Tartaruga Records. Using double bass, glass, accordion, voice and field recordings, she casts an otherworldly spell of drone and dissonance.
