LEESHU

A band from Leeds approaches their instruments with a child-like mentality, that of exploration and a perpetual fascination with the unknown. This 'primitive' approach is combined with the musicality and awareness of experienced improvisers. Expansive soundscapes give the illusion of more than three musicians; singular textures blur the distinction between instruments. A stream of collective sub consciousness, with no pre-conceived hierarchy or roles /functions for specific instruments. Leeshu create a unified sound in which the organic timbre of the saxophones and voice combine with the guitar's 'electro acoustic approach' - manipulation and processing of acoustic sounds. Instant composition and a game founded on interaction with one and other and interaction with oneself.
