OTO PROJECT SPACE // Call & Response presents 5th Dispatch

No Longer Available

Call & Response curate a 3-day listening room for multichannel compositions in the Oto Project Space. For this programme, C&R has invited sound artists working with process based and generative compositional techniques that evolve through the use of computation. At the frontiers of computer music, process informs the sound work as much as the human composer. The space will utilise the C&R 12.1 system to create a 3D immersive listening environment.

The programme includes compositions by artists including:

Freida Abtan (CA)
Theo Burt (UK)
Jayson Haebich (AU)
Robert Van Heumen (NL)
Jeremy Keenan (US)
Matt Lewis (UK)
Thor Magnusson (IS)
Kaffe Matthews (UK)
Michael J Schumacher (US)
Tom Slater (UK)

Call & Response is an independent sonic arts collective, serving as a focus for sound arts practice in London. Our aim is to provide opportunities for the exhibition and performance of sonic artworks, reflecting the emerging interest in the use of the auditory in contemporary art. C&R specialise in the production of multi-channel artworks, ranging from DIY installations in public spaces to high-end immersive 3D environments.

OTO PROJECT SPACE

The OTO Project Space is located just around the corner from Cafe OTO at 1-7 Ashwin Street - E8 3DL.

It was created as a space for artists to develop new work and for OTO Projects to present workshops, talks, film screenings and installations relating to the core programme at Cafe OTO. The building was designed by Assemble - a young, critically acclaimed design practice based in London - and built by a team of more than 30 volunteers.
