ELASTIQUE ODYSSEY

A musical marathon with Orchestra Elastique and special guests, including Tom Richards, Simone and Andrea Salvatici (Clorinde) among many others

Orchestra Elastique invite you to an all night psychedelic trip into the unknown. This one-off 8 hour odyssey of improvised music will feature various guest musicians in a tangled web of intensively induced musical styles and surprising happenings. The evening will also include film and moving image by various artists. Films and artists to be announced very soon…

An evening where the enduring musical imagination of both performers and audience will be tested in improvised sets that join kraut-rock, drone, minimal and plenty of expansive psychedelic freak-outs.

ORCHESTRA ELASTIQUE

Orchestra Elastique are a London-based band/ music improvisation collective. OE comprises of a core group of 6 performers and multi-instrumentalists and several guest musicians varying in number depending on the venue and project in question.

OE have played many major festivals and music venues across Europe and have recorded several soundtracks for feature films and documentaries.

OE recently scored the feature film A Fallible Girl , directed by Conrad Clark, alongside regular Bela Tarr composer Mihaly Vig. The film was premiered at the International Film Festival, Rotterdam and is currently touring Film Festivals in Hong Kong, New York and across Europe.

The music

The ongoing motif is to face music as a playground. Hailing from countries such as France, Portugal, Holland, England and Mexico, Orchestra Elastique fill this playground with instruments such as harp, accordion, trumpet, harmonium, piano, theremin, drums, percussion, electronics, vocals, cello, double bass, bagpipes and many, many more. 

The result is a form of music that ranges from subtle dreams to explosive psychedelia. Orchestra Elastique’s performances elasticate mind, senses and spacetime...



Live

OE has played, for the last years, regularly in various venues across London such as the ICA, Vortex, Café Oto, Shunt, Battersea Arts Centre, Camden Arts Centre, Servant Jazz Quarters, Secret Cinema, The Other Art Fair, just to mention a few. OE also toured in Europe playing packed concerts in Berlin, Paris Lisbon, Rotterdam, Sibiu (Romenia), Caen and Istanbul. In beginning of April OE is playing again in Berlin.

Joris Beets (delta harp, percussion and more), Antoine Gilleron (trumpet, vocals and more), Bruno Humberto (harmonium, synths, organ and more), Nahum Mantra (theremin, electronics, synth and more), Tristan Shorr (drums, piano and more) and Philippe Lenzini (guitar, toys and more).

Regular guests invited to play include: David Tunstall (bagpipes, double bass), Steph Patten (cello), Fiona Bevan (vocals, violin), Larry Achiampong (bass,vocals), Elo Masing (violin, piano), Tom Whitehouse (flute), Sonia Paço-Rocchia (bassoon), among many others.
