Temperatures (UK) and Ninni Morgia Control Unit (US) tour the UK this autumn with the final date at Cafe Oto on the 27th November. Both groups have new LP's out on Ultramarine Records.

Ninni Morgia Control Unit

Ninni Morgia is an Italian-born guitar player, living in New York since 2003. He was the leader of the noise rock band White Tornado in the 90's, with whom he released three albums and splits with Oxbow and Colossamite on Skin Graft Records. At the end of his experience with White Tornado, he starts working on his first solo album, "I Am Two" (1999), a mix of free jazz, psychedelia and improv. In the same year he puts out another album with the quartet Conjura, featuring Italian musicians from the free jazz/improv scenes.

When he moves to New York, he starts to collaborate with the Brooklyn free jazz/improv/noise community and takes part in several projects, like Death.Pool with drummer Andrya Ambro (Talk Normal) and guitarist Tim Garrigan (Dazzling Killmen, You Fantastic). Aaron Mullan records their album at Sonic Youth's Echo Canyon studio in 2004. From 2006-2008 he is a member of the psychedelic outfit La Otracina, with whom he records two albums for the Portland-based Holy Mountain record label. During those years, he starts the open collective QUIVERS. In their two albums released on TigerAsylum Records, Morgia's guitar playing is compared to that of great guitarists like Keiji Haino and Sonny Sharrock. He also starts a free jazz/noise trio with drummer Kevin Shea (ex Storm & Stress, Talibam) and trumpet player Peter Evans, called The Right Moves. The trio put out two albums, their last CD, "The End of the Empire", was released March 2009 on Ultramarine records.

His new album "Ninni Morgia Control Unit" will come out in November 2009 on Ultramarine records, and will feature Daniel Carter (Sun Ra, Cecil Taylor, Plastic Ono Band...) and Jeff Arnal.

Temperatures

Formed at the tail end of 2004, Temperatures are a bass/voice and drums/synth duo from London and have performed many times in the capital. After completing a short tour of the eastern United States in August 2007, Temperatures toured the UK with A Middle Sex in 2008. Their debut album 'Ymir' on NYC's Heat Retention Records followed two 7 inch singles released in the UK and was followed up by this year's split LP with A Middle Sex on Manchester's Carnivals Recordings. This autumn sees the release of their new LP 'Eksra' on Ultramarine Records, to coincide with their UK tour with Ninni Morgia Control Unit.
