MT. EERIE
Mount Eerie represents the latest evolution of Phil Elverum’s musical vision. Formerly known as The Microphones, Phil changed his project’s name to Mount Eerie while maintaining his subtle, lo-fi, and lyrically dense folk aesthetic.
Elverum explained this change asserting that “Mount Eerie is a new project. The Microphones was completed, or at least at a good stopping point. I did it because I am ready for new things. I am new.”
NO KIDS
From Vancouver, Canada, No Kids is a trio consisting of multi-instrumentalist Julia Chirka, percussion Justin Kellam, and singer / songwriter Nick Krgovich, formerly known as 3/4s of the critically revered pop band P:ano. Their first album 'Come Into My House' is out now on Tomlab and achieves an unexpected cohesiveness despite the wide range of musical styles covered in its 41 minutes.
THEE OH SEES
Thee Oh Sees, now a quartett composed of John Dwyer (OCS, Coachwhips, Pink & Brown), Brigid Dawson, Petey Dammit!, and Mike Shoun.
“This music... offers proof that songs... and sound for that matter... can play us as instruments."
- Dave Sitek, recording engineer and member of TV on the Radio
