Excellent double-bill featuring Oslo-based free-improvising trio consisting, KGB - aka Karl Hjalmar Nyberg (saxophone), Gregor Riddell (cello) and Bernt Isak Wærstad (guitar and electronics) - and Langham Research Centre, who make experimental music using resources and ideas that, until recently, were considered obsolete.
KGB is an Oslo-based free-improvising trio consisting of Karl Hjalmar Nyberg (saxophone), Gregor Riddell (cello) and Bernt Isak Wærstad (guitar and electronics). Their music evokes electroacoustic soundscapes that span soaring textures and compact, energetic rhythm.
Langham Research Centre - Felix Carey, Iain Chambers, Philip Tagney and Robert Worby - make experimental music using resources and ideas that, until recently, were considered obsolete. Their music is made using tape recorders, cassette machines, radios and devices found in recording studios. Their inspiration is driven by the soundworlds produced by maverick composers working in the middle of the 20th century
