Joshua Burkett + Eric Arn + Jon Collin

No Longer Available

Great triple bill of outsider folk and six string meditations with Joshua Burkett (Time-Lag, Tower Recordings, Sunburned Hand of the Man etc) making his first visit to the UK, fellow American Eric Arn (of Primordial Undermind) and Winebox Press boss Jon Collin's haunted solo guitar.

JOSHUA BURKETT

Thou never playing a show in the UK before, Burkett has been recording & playing live in the states for 20+ years. He has played in the following groups/collectives: Vermonster, Tower Recordings, Shrinnirs, Parrotprobe, Borb, Sunburned Hand Of The Man, Wormdoom, & Tarp... & has played solo sets with folks like: Charalambides, Michael Hurley, Jack Rose, Dredd Foole, Chris Thompson, Ed Askew, Michael Chapman, Cherry Blossoms, Steve Gunn, John Fahey, Corsano/Flaherty, Ghost, Daniel Higgs, Red Favourite, Sun Ciry Girls, Ralph White, Son Of Earth, Bobb Trimble, Big Blood, Six Organs Of Admittance, Valley Of Ashes, Fursaxa, Thurston Moore, Circle, George Stavis, Michael Yonkers, & more.

"Joshua Burkett is one of the rock’s of the New England rock underground. He got his start in the Bimbo Shrineheads at just 16 years old, playing bass and saxophone. Burkett later played sax and served as cover artist for Vermonster, Wayne Rogers and Kate Biggar’s outlet before Major Stars. Beginning in the mid 1990s, he released solo material on his own Feather One’s Nest label, including the masterpiece Gold Cosmos, which featured both Ben Chasny of Six Organs of Admittance and Pat Gubler of P.G. Six. Spirit of Orr Records recently reissued Owls Leaves Rustling, Burkett’s 1995 solo debut, along with testimonies from Thurston Moore, Chris Corsano and Wolf Eyes’ John Olson." - Dusted Magazine

ERIC ARN

American guitarist Eric Arn and his group Primordial Undermind have tirelessly mined the nether regions of avant-rock for the past two decades. An open membership, and a restlessness to stay put has resulted in a steady progression from distorted, psychedelic rock overload to full-blown free instrumental music, and of course everything in between. Since settling in Vienna in 2005, Eric has continued to perform with the Undermind, as well as playing solo, in duos with Stefan Kushima/Cruise Family, Cam Deas and Vanessa Arn, as a member of the Vienna Improvisors Orchestra, Tempel Solaire/Tempel Lunaire, and the Magic Carpathians, and as a regular featured player in Marco Eneidi's Nenuvi Orchestra. He has released his first solo album, 'Points of Fissure', on Feathered Coyote Records in April 2013.

"The strange shapes he was making were flying in the face of tradition beautifully, harnessed by a resonant drone but leaving lots of space for the sounds to breathe... he broke the rhythmic thrust into a series of eddies, swirling patterns, his fingers all over the place; you could tell this man was really having a ball." - Cloudboy, Rottenmeats blog

"somewhere between a mostly unplugged Tom Carter and the classicism of James Blackshaw... Eric Arn is clearly becoming something of a guitar virtuoso." - Michael Wehunt, Foxy Digitalis

JON COLLIN

Jon Collin is a guitarist performing both solo and in numerous other projects including The Whole Voyald, Vampire Blues, John Fante, and more. He runs the label Winebox Press.

"a UK slide guitar improviser who lays down a set of live six-string improv that floats, picks, rings and quivers with the tortured soul at the heart of the experimental delta. His tracks may seem unmoored but they ebb and flow with a kind of nighttime intensity that's only companion seems to be the tape hiss that creeps steadily under the set." Raven Sings the Blues
