Two duo sets from a pair of incredible pianists and improvisers in the form of John Tilbury and Maya Dunietz.
British pianist John Tilbury is renowned for his remarkable touch and in constant demand as an interpreter of piano pieces by composers such as Morton Feldman and John Cage. During the 1960s, Tibury was closely associated with the composer Cornelius Cardew, whose music he has interpreted and recorded and a member of the Scratch Orchestra. He is also an incredible improvisor, most famously as a member of legendary British group AMM. Maya Dunietz is one of the leading voices in new music in Israel, and a unique pianist whose playing mashes together the history of the piano into relentless improvised associations. She brings to the instrument an avantgarde humor that is rare and a unique ability to go at any moment to any musical space in a way that is always surprising.
