GALVANISED! (festival of other music) - Event One - Featuring... Charles Hayward, Temperatures, Blood Moon, A middle sex + Bromancer

No Longer Available

After the success of our first year of musical adventure in 2007 - Galvanised! returns this October with a new collection of exciting sounds. As always we are colliding sound and ideas within music, offering new ways at approaching performance and musical composition. Central to the ideas of this year’s festival is the ‘visual representation of music’. This aspect will be highlighted by a collection of images made by our musicians and other artists and bought together as a booklet – the booklet will be a publication produced by the printing wing of Kaleidoscope label.

This will be free to all audience members - although you are asked to select the works yourself to make up your own individual catalogue. DIY fun!

Event One - Curated by Kevin Quigley

The first event will consist of a wonderful evening of Drum orientated acts, where we have invited 5 groups of musicians to create a very special event exploring the subtle depths of percussive and drumming composition.

In addition to this we will be adapting the Café Oto space to form a visual installation where we will have up to 5 uniquely lit performance areas - all arched into one semi circle.

Acts include headliner Charles Hayward (This Heat,Camberwell Now), Temperatures (Thurston Moore’s favorite London based improv electronic/drum duo), Blood Moon (Manchester’s Cage-ian free rock drum duo) A middle sex (Manchester’s This Heat inspired proto-punk band) Bromancer (London’s Chaos vs Cosmos spawned primeval drumming).
