A special collaboration between Vocalist/Banjo-player Daniel Higgs and Israeli musicians Maya Dunietz and Assaf Talmudi. This is the second in a series of events - 'HIT & RUN' - curated by Israeli pianist Maya Dunietz for Café Oto throughout April and early May. 'Hit & Run' will feature musicians that she respects and admires covering a range of experimental and underground music.
This is the first in what we hope to be an ongoing series of events curated by international musicians.
Please note: there will now be an additional show from this trio on Sunday the 24th!
DANIEL HIGGS
Daniel A.I.U Higgs was perhaps best known as the singer and lyricist of the now defunct band Lungfish. However, since that time he has carved out his own distinctive place as a solo artist with a number of solo records that take in apocalyptic songcraft, raga banjo and uncategorisable artistry.
"...triangulated somewhere between the Sun City Girls' fractured takes on various forms of world music, John Fahey's idiosyncratic reworking of traditional American folk music, and Jandek's oddly tuned weirdness for its own sake" Stewart Mason, All Music Guide (on Metempsychotic Melodies)
