Malvern Brume

The music is formed through experimentations with electronic instruments, field recordings, amplified objects and voice; motivated by a relationship to changing and chaotic environments, objects and scores made from walking.

BABY HAIR

BABY HAIR are a female experimental performance art / dance / music / film-making duo from Brighton/ London, UK. Their ritualistic chanting, bells, drum jams, noisy pop synths, violin drones and screaming invoke spirits and goddesses who join them in creating fun, wildness, and joy!

BABY HAIR explore themes of dualism and twins, complimentary opposites and jarring similarities. They are playful and serious, fun and profound, projecting a teenage vision of grand, expansive themes with innocence and wisdom, interchangeably/simultaneously both mother and child. They use costumes and synchronised dance, symbolic and spiritual gesture, and props to open portals to other dimensions, scattering dust, feathers and flower petals, and chalking the floors.

Their first ever live show was described as being “beautiful” and “important” in The Wire magazine. At this show at Cafe Oto they will be presenting a live score to their film “BABY HAIR THE MOVIE” which was first shown at Supernormal Festival this summer. “BABY HAIR THE ALBUM” is out now on Eyeless Records.

Territorial Gobbing

“Theo Gowans work as Territorial Gobbing is a vital presence in the new vanguard of tongue-tied wonk. A visceral noise poetry and electro-acoustic scene which has been present in the UK underground for decades. From Phil Minton's vomitous grunts and burps to Dylan Nyoukis' skat-gob postulations via Chocolate Monk. The Territorial Gobbist in question couples these larynx bending styles with quick-draw dictaphone blasts and a John Wiese esque scattershot surgery of complex acoustic audio thrown all over the listening field.” - Opal Tapes
