‘A series of Fortunate Events…’ at Café Oto brings together improvisers with a longstanding involvement in the contemporary international scene. Eddie Prévost has been involved in numerous small group contexts as well as being the driving force behind seminal improvising group AMM; Prévost is one of a core of radical innovators who have laid the foundations for European free improvisation. Anton Lukoszevieze has a formidable reputation as a champion of avant-garde and experimental music, and is the director of new music ensemble Apartment House. David Ryan has performed with various improvisers - John Edwards, Vinny Golia, Rhodri Davies amongst many others, and performs in small groups with Ian Mitchell and Simon Allen. Respectively these three musicians have been affected by elements of the avant-garde, composition, and indeterminacy; but above all, they are each engaged with an attention to sound and the unfolding of sonic particularity in time and space.
