Alberto Ruiz (sound artist) & Aurea Romero (contemporary dancer) will present an interactive sound and dance performance QBIQL-Art.
QBIQL-Art is a performance piece exploring how its various elements interact inside a certain reality. Some elements are constants (like space or set design) and some others are variables (like sound, light and performer). The reality is shaped by some rules based on time, which create some possibilities for the elements to interact. The piece is divided into four main sections. The computer will decide the order of those sections randomly. Each section is assigning a certain kind of environment, which restricts the light to a certain color; sound and movement to a certain vocabulary with a different quality for every section.
The performance is created through the interaction between the performer and the computer, which is controlling sound and lighting at the real time. The communication between the dancer and the computer happens through sensors allocated inside the space. Through this communication the decisions taken individually will affect the possible future actions taken by the other part. This will create a co-dependant relationship where both elements have to work together in order to produce the piece.
