Active Crossover 2011.04 - the last of four exhibitions across the UK throughout 2011
11th August - 1st October 2011
Soundfjord, Unit 3B - Studio 28, 28 Lawrence Road, London, N15 4ER

Gallery open Wed to Sat, noon - 6pm

Active Crossover began as a residency project Simon Whetham initiated in Tallinn, Estonia in 2009, where he collaborated and shared ideas with a large number artists from various disciplines.

He then formulated a number of methods to continue this artistic exchange, one being the exhibition, which runs at Soundfjord from 11th August to 1st October, and the other being the live events that 'bookend' each exhibition.

For these live events, artists who live in the town or city in which the exhibition is being hosted are invited to perform a current or improvised piece.

The artists then work as pairs, with one beginning, playing a solo piece. the first is then joined by the second for a short collaborative 'crossover' session, and then the first artist ceases playing leaving the second to play their own solo set.
