Weavels consist of two low register woodwind instruments, one of a single reed variety, and the other of the double reed variety, with amplified electric guitar. You could say they combine an old fashioned sensibility of wood panelling with abrasions of cheese wire. Mick Beck describes it as a group which is humorous but intricately purposeful, and Ken Waxman in his Jazz Word review (July 2011) said "Weavels' watchword is textural collaboration, not blustering bravado."
