Maureen Hallomas is a long-standing experimental sound artist based in Brighton, working solo as Teignmouth Electron. Seen most often as a live performance guise, Teignmouth Electron moves through sound collage, voice, tape noise, fractured song-form and unstable electronics, telling tall tales, conjuring spirits and exorcising demons through intimate, haunted sound worlds.
Hallomas has also been involved in projects including Polly Shang Kuan Band, Rubber Demon, Leopard Leg and Men Oh Pause, with Teignmouth Electron’s small but significant catalogue stretching back to 2007 across labels including Hex Out Tapes, Chocolate Monk, Research Laboratories and adhuman.
